“We have advantages. We have a cushion to fall back on. This is abundance. A luxury of place and time. Something rare and wonderful. It’s almost historically unprecedented. We must do extraordinary things. We have to. It would be absurd not to.” ― Dave Eggers, A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius

“So many years of preparation, for what was called adult life: was it for this?” ― Hilary Mantel, Experiment in Love

“Now and then, however, he is horribly thoughtless, and seems to take a real delight in giving me pain. Then I feel… that I have given away my whole soul to some one who treats it as if it were a flower to put in his coat, a bit of decoration to charm his vanity, an ornament for a summer’s day.”― Oscar Wilde, The Picture of Dorian Gray

“He’s one of those smart, drifty young people who, after certain deliberations, decides he wants to do Something in the Arts but won’t, possibly can’t, think in terms of an actual job; who seems to imagine that youth and brains and willingness will simply summon an occupation, the precise and perfect nature of which will reveal itself in its own time.”— Michael Cunningham, By Nightfall

“They are not brave, the days when we are twenty-one. They are full of little cowardices, little fears without foundation, and one is so easily bruised, so swiftly wounded, one falls to the first barbed word.” ― Daphne du Maurier, Rebecca

“You will always be loved, and you will always be in love with love. A grande passion is the privilege of people who have nothing to do. That is the one use of the idle classes of a country. Don’t be afraid. There are exquisite things in store for you. This is merely the beginning.”

― Oscar Wilde, The Picture of Dorian Gray.

Pues me ahorro leerla entonces :)
